About Our Branch
The Long Island Branch of The International Dyslexia Association is a
501(c)(3) non-profit, scientific and educational
organization which was formed to increase public awareness
of dyslexia in the Long Island area of New York. We have
been serving individuals with dyslexia, their families, and
professionals in the field in this community for over 25
years.
We are a resource and support system for parents,
dyslexics, and educators. Tutoring, testing, and other
information about resources in the state can be obtained by
leaving a message at our Branch Office or sending us an
e-mail.
Many of our members are actively involved in the
diagnosis and remediation of dyslexia. Our members are
educators, psychologists, physicians, individuals with
dyslexia, and parents who have dealt with learning
disability issues within local public and private schools.
Over the past few years, we have developed a network of
local school officials, parents, attorneys, and other
professionals who are accustomed to helping parents navigate
the channels of the school system.
